Foundations
Foundations is the makerspace’s “start-here” class category: short, hands-on courses that teach the core skills and safety habits needed to use the shop confidently. These classes focus on universal fundamentals—shop orientation, safety systems, measurement and layout, material basics, and the correct use of common tools—so members build a shared baseline before moving into advanced machines or specialized projects. Each session is practical and project-centered, emphasizing safe workflow, tool setup, and best practices that apply across woodworking, metalworking, electronics, and digital fabrication.
